The PDA Society is looking for enquiry line volunteers to support adults with PDA and their parents/carers to expand our enquiry line service. We currently have an enquiry line to support parents/carers of children as well as professionals (clinicians, teachers and social care professionals). We do also take enquiries from individuals (adults) with PDA and their parents/carers but currently only have one qualified volunteer for this.

Our enquiry line team consists of volunteers who are all parents of children or young adults with PDA. All team members receive the appropriate training to deal with enquiries in a supportive, caring and confidential manner and our volunteers all find their work very rewarding.

We are seeking additional volunteers who can specifically help with enquiries from adults with PDA and parents/carers of adults with PDA.

Could you help?

Candidates would need to have a good understanding and knowledge of PDA, and ideally be the parent or carer of an adult with PDA. You would need to be able to commit to at least 2 hours per week, working from home over email and the phone. You would also need to attend one initial training session in Nottingham and two enquiry line volunteers meetings per year, also probably in Nottingham. The role is purely voluntary, though all expenses are reimbursed.

If you’d like to apply please email info@pdasociety.org.uk. We look forward to hearing from you.
