Morning session: Success for Autistic students (10.00am – 12.30pm)
This session aims to reveal some simple strategies to support autistic students. By the end of the session, participants will:
- Recognise some of the characteristics and behaviour associated with Autism
- Understand the facts and the myths surrounding Autism
- Have increased knowledge of how to remove barriers to learning in an educational setting for Autistic students
- Learn how to minimise the effects of behaviour
Lunch break is around 12.30
Afternoon session: Understanding Pathological Demand Avoidance (1.30pm – 4.00pm)
During this training session, our aims are that participants will:
- Understand the meaning of Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA)
- Know how to support a PDA pupil/student in class and elsewhere
- Recognise what causes the behaviours associated with PDA and the best methods to de-escalate
- Be more aware of how PDA and Autism are linked
This full day programme is designed for:

Fees for the day include fully guided training (via Zoom), all course resources and a certificate of attendance.
