Understanding PDA – Pathological Demand Avoidance
March 4 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm| £27.54
What is Pathological Demand Avoidance? How can I help my child who has a PDA profile?
Demand Avoidance can be seen in children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) but when the avoidance reaches a pathological level, major difficulties arise. Both parents and teaching staff will have challenges on an entirely new level that can be difficult to manage.
We will explore:
- What is PDA?
- The key differences in working with young people & children with ASD and those with a PDA profile.
- Effective teaching and everyday approaches for the home
Small Talk Speech & Language Therapy is a multi-award winning speech and language therapy organisation that works with children with PDA from all over the UK. Libby Hill, director of the business and lead therapist, belongs to the PDA professionals group and a highly valued PDA research group.
As with all our events, please bring your questions and make good use of the expertise on the night.
