Our courses are delivered by facilitators with valuable lived experience of PDA. They may be PDAers themselves, parents, carers, partners, family members or professionals working with PDA people. For any questions about the content of our training please contact: training@pdasociety.org.uk.
Legislation and diagnostic approaches are relevant to England unless stated otherwise. Education programs are also available covering the Welsh education system, and we also offer 1 hour online sessions for support groups on request.
Understanding PDA for Parents & carers.

This course is aimed at parents and carers of PDA children under 18. During the course we will discuss what PDA is, understanding demands, and explore how to help using a variety of different supportive approaches. We’ll also take a look at siblings, diagnosis and education.
Supporting PDA young people & adults.

This CPD accredited course is aimed at social care professionals who work with and support PDA young people and adults, but may also be helpful for parents & carers of PDA young people and adults who would like to deepen their knowledge.

What is PDA for male parents and carers.
December 4th 2024, 7pm – 9:30pm.
This event aims to create a supportive environment for male and non-binary parents or carers of a PDA person, whether formally diagnosed, self-identified or exploring the profile). The session will be delivered by trainers and a guest speaker with lived experience of PDA.
Q&A Live Events
Our online Q&A Live sessions invite guest speakers to answer questions about PDA and specific topics live via Zoom. The Q&As will be recorded and available for a small fee through our website.
Questions can be submitted at the time of booking and/or via the Zoom chat function on the night. It won’t be possible to answer specific questions about personal situations within these Q&A sessions, but you are welcome to contact our support service to discuss your individual circumstances.
Q&A Live – Burnout
Thursday 21st November 2024, 8 to 9pm (GMT)
During this Q&A Live session we will focus on understanding autistic burnout within a PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance) profile. We will have two guest speakers, with lived experience, who will share their personal experiences and insights on this important topic.
We’ll start with a discussion on what autistic burnout is, especially within the context of a PDA profile, and then move on to addressing your questions.
