Support for professionals
Do you come across PDA individuals in your working life? Are you looking for ways you can tell if someone you work with is a PDAer, or for information about what support is helpful? We’re here for you.
Our support service is here when you need targeted information, signposting and support to help you in your work with PDAers and their families. We can help you find information about PDA, about rights, services and approaches that help. Where we don’t have expertise to support you, we’ll do our best to tell you about a service that can.
Our trained support team all have lived experience of PDA and aim to respond to all enquiries within five working days. As a UK-based charity, our teams training focuses on UK systems and support. Unfortunately, this means we are only able to respond to enquiries from within the UK.
We understand that reaching out for support can be difficult, and we want to help where we can. However, please know that we are not a crisis service, and our team operates during usual office hours, Monday to Friday. While we aim to respond within five working days, we aren’t able to offer immediate or out-of-hours support, including evenings and weekends. If you need urgent help, please consider reaching out to a crisis support organisation or emergency services in your area, as they will be best placed to provide immediate assistance.
If you are seeking information straight away, there are lots of resources for professionals here.
If you are looking for signposting, please use our ‘organisation directory’ here.
When we get your enquiry, we will respond by email, providing helpful information and suggestions. We’re able to offer phone calls in certain situations—please let us know if that would be helpful.
If you enquire more than once you can expect different people to respond to your requests. We keep your information confidential within our small team, and all team members will be able to access previous enquiries – so we hope you won’t need to repeat yourself.
Please take the time to read the information on this page first so you know how we can help.
