Copyright and fair use

This page is about use of our logo and intellectual property.
We love that our community is passionate about spreading awareness of the PDA Society’s work. Our content, logo and branding reflect who we are and the values we stand for, so it’s important they’re used with care and respect.

Our logo and branding

Who owns it?

The PDA Society holds full copyright and intellectual property rights to our logo and all branded materials.

How can I use it?

We’re delighted to offer official merchandise through our own channels — you’re very welcome to wear, share and enjoy these items to help raise awareness.

What’s not okay?

Please don’t use our logo or branding on other materials — such as leaflets, posters, websites, or social media — unless you’ve had written permission from us.

No misrepresentation

Using our branding in a way that might suggest endorsement or partnership with us when there isn’t one isn’t allowed.

Copyright and Permissions

We’re committed to sharing information to help PDA people and those who support them. You can read and use everything on our website freely for personal use, but if you want to use it in other ways, we’ve set out some guidance below.
  • Can I quote your website or materials?

Yes — you’re welcome to use up to 200 words from our resources in places like websites, printed materials or presentations (excluding personal experience quotes). When you do, please include: © PDA Society. This information is published in full at pdasociety.org.uk. If it’s online, please also include a direct link to the original page.

  • Need to quote more than 200 words?

Just get in touch with our communications team — we’re happy to discuss this.

  • Can I use your information as a student?

Absolutely! You’re welcome to include our resources in essays or coursework — just make sure they’re properly cited and referenced.

  • Can I print your PDFs or booklets?

For personal use: Yes — feel free to print as many copies as you need for yourself.

For professionals or organisations: Please contact us if you’d like to distribute printed copies (for example, at an event or in a workplace). As long as the materials are used in full, not edited, and clearly credited to PDA Society, we’re usually happy to agree.

Please don’t reproduce or sell our materials for profit.

  • Can I link to the PDA Society’s website?

Yes, please do! We welcome links to our resources and are happy to answer any questions if you’re not sure how best to do this.

  • Can I translate your materials?

Please contact us to discuss permissions before translating anything.

  • Can I use images from PDA Society materials?

You can share images of the covers of our reports when linking to them — just include a link back to our site and don’t edit the image. All other images have been created to be exclusively used by us. This helps people we are working with know when they are communicating with us and when they aren’t.

Please don’t remove or reuse images in new content — that makes it hard for us to keep everything accurate and up to date.

Our logo shouldn’t be used without our express written permission.

  • Still not sure?

If you have any questions or would like permission for something not covered here, please email us at comms@pdasociety.org.uk.

We’re here to help make sure our information is shared in a way that’s helpful and respectful. Following the guidance above keeps everyone safer.
