Some people might say passed away.\u201d<span><br \/><\/span><\/li>\n<li>If someone is unwell and may not recover, by sharing this openly and gently: \u201cThe doctors are helping as much as they can, but they might not get better.\u201d, and allowing them to ask questions, it can build better understanding on their own terms.<span><br \/><\/span><\/li>\n<li>Offering false reassurance, such as \u201dDon\u2019t worry, they\u2019ll be fine.\u201d can lead to confusion and mistrust. Some may appear calm and detached while others feel intense emotions of anger and sadness that can shift quickly. All these feelings are valid and may be felt and shown at different times.<\/p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.27.5&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<p>A young PDAer might:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Struggle to identify and name feelings.<\/li>\n<li>Avoid talking about the loss altogether.<\/li>\n<li>Need autonomy and familiarity within their environment, such as sticking to their chosen routines.<\/li>\n<li>Seek comfort through objects or creative outlets such as art or music.<\/li>\n<li>Ask many questions or focus on specific details.
