PDA for Parents and Carers
This course will help parents & carers feel more confident supporting PDA children up to the age of 16 (whether formally diagnosed, self-identified or exploring the profile).
Over 2 sessions we will discuss: ‘What is PDA?’, consider what demands are and their effects, then explore how to help using a variety of different approaches. We’ll also take a look at siblings, diagnosis and education.
Working with & supporting PDA children (CPD accredited)
This CPD accredited course will help education, health & social care professionals feel more confident working with PDA children (whether formally diagnosed, self-identified or exploring the profile).
This introductory session will consider:

- Helpful approaches
- PDA & Education
- Resources/signposting
- Q&A
Working with & supporting PDA young people and adults (CPD accredited)
This CPD accredited course will help parents, carers & professionals feel more confident supporting PDA young people and adults (whether formally diagnosed, self-identified or exploring the profile).
This session will consider:
- What is PDA?
- Demand avoidance and the effects
- What are demands?
- How can PDA feel
- Helpful approaches
- Teenagers & adults
- Distressed behaviours
- Individual needs
- Inclusive support
- Q&A
Working with & supporting PDA adults (CPD accredited)
This CPD accredited course will help professionals feel more confident supporting PDA adults (whether formally diagnosed, self-identified or exploring the profile).
We will explore a range of person-centred approaches in this session including how to create a trusting partnership based on flexibility and collaboration.
PDA for Educators (CPD accredited)
This CPD accredited course, delivered over 2 sessions, will help education professionals feel more confident working with PDA children (whether formally diagnosed, self-identified or exploring the profile).
We will explore a range of person-centred approaches including how to create a trusting partnership based on flexibility and collaboration.
Over 2 sessions we will cover:
- What is PDA?
- Explores demands and their effects
- How PDA can feel
- Helpful approaches (including collaborative problem solving)
- Educational good practice and where to go for help
- Reasonable adjustments
- PDA children as learners
- Ideas for the classroom and demonstrating progress
- Q&A
