Ruskin Mill Trust: Special Free School in Birmingham, details of open day and links to questionnaire
  • We have received the following information from Ruskin Mill Trust, in regards to plans for a Special free school in Birmingham, and a planned open evening on 18th February 2016.

"Ruskin Mill Trust is seeking views from parents and professionals about our plans to open a special free school in Birmingham. The School will offer innovative, practical education for up to 60 children aged 7—16 who do not achieve in mainstream schools and who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders and/or Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.

We would be very grateful if you could take five minutes to complete one of these two short questionnaires to give us your thoughts. Please do circulate this through your networks, the more responses we have the better we can help meet your needs.

    Questionnaire for parents

    Questionnaire for professionals

We are holding an open evening on 18th February in the Jewellery Quarter to meet with prospective parents and professionals and would welcome you to join us to ask questions, see one of our colleges and experience our therapeutic curriculum."

For more information about the open evening, and about Ruskin Mill Trust please see the photos on this facebook page

    Hi Everyone

Brantwood Special School came to the PDA Society Conference in Sept 2016.
3 of our Trustees are local to the school and have been hearing from Parents whos PDA/ASD children attend, just how good the school is and how it is meeting the educational needs of children with PDA.

We ran a Resilience Workshop there on Saturday 13/03/16 (Led by Jo Clarke, from Petros) and heard of their plans to have another school, a Free School in Birmingham for children with complex and challenging needs, like our children with PDA.

I don't know about you but I so wish there was a school like Brantwood in my Local Authority.

So to help Brantwood School please complete their short survery and if you are anywhere near Birmingham please support Brantwood by attending the meeting on Thursday 18th February 2016.
