Therapist confused by diagnosis?
  • Hi everyone Im a new member I have a ppd nos child Who has been recently diagnosed.. I should confess I really don't feel agree with therapist so I found this website and everything have more sense now... So my cuestion is how should I talk with my kid's therapist? Because in her sessions she made me understand we don't do a good parenting and my child needs to now limits but my husband and I spend so much time teaching him what is wrong and right... He is a good boy Inside the house so I though he could be masking because his behavior is completly different in school or other places... It's because that reason she though my child's diagnosis must be changed for a behavioral disorder not an ASD... Im affraid this going to have an impact in my child's treatment
    Thank you for reading me

Hi Lucialibertad, welcome to the Forum. Personally I would say if you have concerns you should defintely talk to your son's therapist. Perhaps signpost them to our website and both the reference booklet: and Keys to care sheet:
It's really important to have the right people working with our children so if you remain concerned you may wish to consider changing therapists. I hope this helps.
