"Too Honest to Work for The NHS" !!!

"When Maha Yassaie began to suspect that a colleague was taking money from drug companies to prescribe a certain product and that a GP had obtained controlled drugs to attempt suicide she naturally raised the alarm.

But after reporting these and other concerns about her colleagues the former chief pharmacist at Berkshire West Primary Care Trust was dismissed from her post.

To her dismay Lady Yassaie was told by an internal inquiry that she was “too honest” to work for the NHS."

And this is what so many of us observe and experience, with the cover-ups and lies within NHS over diagnosis and support for our children.
  • Bernie Henry Its just so awful isn't it Weve had the same thing going on in this country Whistleblower in the police force was targeted a dead rat was hung on his door Charities have been exposed not by their own internal auditing procedures but by whistleblowers going to TV investigate programmes or the press Power really does corrupt

Its illegal under the Data Protection Act to give an inaccurate reference. Amazing how many folks get away this, I have seen this recently myself.

It's always the case in my opinion of who you know , not what you know. The Old Boys Network is still up and running. Never will be any different.

I can remember years ago being told to apply for a job. I told my boss at the time, " but I can't do half of those duties" to which she replied, " neither can the majority of the staff there , apply for it" . I actually got the job and throughly enjoyed it. I asked my boss years later why they had employed me to which he replied, " You told us the truth ". That was the NHS.
  • I thought it was illegal to give a bad one, but it's not a reference per se it's an employment record with reason for leaving so sadly, they might be able to get away with it. I'm happy to be proven wrong on that though. Until people find out what's been written on records that is untrue, they are oblivious and these nasty people get away with it. The ICO is another toothless body.

It is illegal. How they get away with it I don't know. There are so many folks these days unwilling to expose the truth because of the fear of loosing their job.

  • I'm struggling to find evidence that writing an incorrect reason on an employee's employment record as to reason for leaving is illegal. I checked out these pages:

    http://www.lawdonut.co.uk/law/employment-law/dismissals-and-redundancies/dismissing-employees-key-facts

    http://www.lawdonut.co.uk/law/employment-law/dismissals-and-redundancies/giving-references

In fact to my surprise they even say you can give a bad reference if it's factual and you can substantiate it, they just advise being careful in case of being sued.

Unbelievable. Get out clauses once again. So it's OK to give inaccurate references but watch your own back . How many would be able to afford to go through the Courts. A normal lawyer is something like £120 per hour so a QC which you would probably need unless you sell your house, if you have one, you can't afford to do, therefore normal folks can't take on the "System."

Going a bit off track, it's my ADD, it's very much like this case. It's so wrong. It's like "Whistleblowers " , she has lost everything proving her innocence.

George Orwells Animal Farm seems to ring a bell once more.

  • The system is set up against the ordinary man, whilst being under the guise of having layers of options for different scenarios, that don't in fact work.
