Transparency on exclusions. Need to hear from BME and/or home educators following exclusion
  • https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/transparency-on-exclusions-tickets-44301050635

    Dear All
The first meeting of a group called Transparency on Exclusions will be meeting next Saturday (16th June) in London (near London Bridge). They are oversubscribed with interested parties but they holding some places to hear from two groups where they currently have little or no representation.
    These are:
    1. any family from the BME community who have experienced school exclusions.
    2. any family now homeschooling having experienced exclusion.

The leads on this group are influencial people who are respected by the DfE. Tim Taylor & Jules Daulby. Jules recently gave evidence at a parliament enquiry on alternative provisions.

This opportunity is to try to look at how the system can be changed. In their words: This event is the first meeting of a group interested in reducing exclusions, official and unofficial, in English state schools. We aim to set up a grassroots organisation comprising of teachers, academics, parents, governors and anyone else linked to education and wishing to see better data on why children leave school and in finding ways to reduce the numbers.
If you are home educating or from the BME communities and are free to attend on Saturday afternoon please reply by sending a PM to me and I will link you up to the leads for the event
