"We tried writing to our daughter to resolve things, mediation services but she refused to communicate with us. We then went to the next stage and applied for a contact order. At the first stage in court we were handed papers from her alleging we had physically and emotionally abused her since she was young, all totally false. We were in total shock."
One failed to appreciate why she couldn’t steal. Many tried to pass on the blame for their own bad behaviour to others, or denied things even when caught red handed. Several made false accusations (“She will make things up and tell tales to get her brother into trouble, and then wants me to tell him off in front of her”).
The PDA Society is run on a purely voluntary basis by a few dedicated trustees supported by a group of hardworking volunteers. They are all parents to children or adults with PDA and thus have challenging home lives and other commitments in addition to their roles with the PDA Society.
