Volunteer role 2: Updating local offer for Wales

Help families and professionals find accurate PDA related information in their local area.

We want to ensure Local Offers across Wales are up to date with accurate information about the PDA Society and our Training & Support Service. This is a simple but important task — helping parents, carers and professionals quickly find reliable PDA resources in their area.

We’ve already been working through England and Scotland, and now we’re looking for volunteers to help us complete Wales. If you enjoy practical admin tasks and want to make a real difference for PDA families, we’d love to hear from you.

What you’ll be doing

  • Checking Local Offer websites for each Welsh local authority
  • Emailing councils to request that PDA Society information is added or updated
  • Adding or updating details about the PDA Society
  • Flagging any broken links or incorrect information
  • Working flexibly, at your own pace

There is no face‑to‑face contact and no time‑sensitive work. It’s steady, flexible admin that you can pick up and put down whenever suits you.

What we provide

  • Clear written instructions
  • Information about the PDA Society
  • Ongoing support from our People and Operations Manager
  • A welcoming, understanding environment — especially if you’re neurodivergent or prefer predictable, structured tasks

Who this might suit

This role is ideal for someone who:

  • Enjoys repetitive or methodical tasks
  • Likes working quietly and independently
  • Has strong accuracy and attention to detail, including correctly transcribing names, postcodes and other key information
  • Wants to contribute to a meaningful cause without pressure
  • Is building confidence, returning to work, or looking for gentle volunteering
  • Appreciates clear instructions and a calm workload.

If you are interested in supporting us with this please email hr@pdasociety.org.uk

To keep everyone safe and ensure we meet our GDPR responsibilities, all volunteers must complete a short Volunteer Information Form on Microsoft Forms. We can provide this in different formats if needed to support accessibility.

Some roles involve handling sensitive or personal data (for example, demographic monitoring). For these roles, volunteers will also be asked to sign a short GDPR & Confidentiality Addendum. This addendum explains how to handle information safely and is designed to be clear, proportionate and easy to follow.
