Safer PDA

These resources have been created by PDA adults, professionals and carers of PDA people, with the support of PDA Society. The aim of this guidance is to help PDA people find safe and appropriate support. Professionals may also find this helpful in understanding what information about their services, and experiences within them, represent a safe environment for PDAers.

As a community that can be misunderstood, PDA people struggle to find helpful and appropriate services. This can often result in choosing services which may not meet their needs.
We believe that our community should be able to access support that helps us and doesn’t harm us. It is our hope that this resources will help our community to identify safe practice and know what to do if services seem unsafe.

Training for professionals

Want to develop your practice in supporting PDAers – we can help. Our training for professionals shares practical tools and the theory behind them – presented by people who know what they are talking about. Many of our courses are CPD accredited too. You can find them here.
