Support our People & Operations team with meaningful, data-driven, HR work.
Are you looking to gain experience in HR? Do you enjoy spreadsheets, data analysis, and turning numbers into insights? Our busy People and Operations Manager is looking for a volunteer to help with a specific project: analysing our recruitment demographic monitoring data.
When people apply for a role at the PDA Society, we ask them to complete an anonymous demographic form (covering gender, age, race, disability, etc.). This helps us understand who we’re reaching and ensures our recruitment is inclusive and representative.
If you enjoy quiet analytical work, like organising data, and find satisfaction in producing clear charts and graphs, this could be a great fit.
What you’ll be doing
- Downloading historic demographic monitoring dataÂ
- Analysing the data and producing charts/graphsÂ
- Following clear written instructionsÂ
- Keeping data accurate and consistentÂ
- Working independently at your own paceÂ
- Ensuring compliance with GDPR and safeguarding requirementsÂ
There is no face‑to‑face contact and no time‑sensitive work. It’s steady, flexible admin that you can do whenever suits you.
What we provide
- Clear written instructionsÂ
- Ongoing support from our People and Operations ManagerÂ
- A welcoming, understanding environment — especially if you’re neurodivergent or prefer predictable, structured tasksÂ
Who this might suit
This role is ideal for someone who:
- Wants to contribute to a meaningful cause without pressureÂ
- Is looking to gain experience in HR or data analysisÂ
- Is building confidence, returning to work, or seeking gentle volunteeringÂ
- Likes working quietly and independentlyÂ
- Appreciates clear instructions and a calm workloadÂ
- Has strong accuracy and attention to detailÂ
- Understands safeguarding and GDPR responsibilities when handling personal dataÂ
If you are interested in supporting us with this please email hr@pdasociety.org.uk
To keep everyone safe and ensure we meet our GDPR responsibilities, all volunteers must complete a short Volunteer Information Form on Microsoft Forms. We can provide this in different formats if needed to support accessibility.
Some roles involve handling sensitive or personal data (for example, demographic monitoring). For these roles, volunteers will also be asked to sign a short GDPR & Confidentiality Addendum. This addendum explains how to handle information safely and is designed to be clear, proportionate and easy to follow.
