We have some good news to share!

The National Lottery Community Fund will be helping to fund the PDA Society for the next 5 years, ensuring we can reach even more people through our support services.

This funding will mean we can:

  • Support more people through our Enquiry Line
  • Extend our training courses, including self-paced learning and CPD accreditation
  • Develop new information resources on the things that matter most to you
  • Hire a Community Co-Ordinator and launch a PDA Youth Panel for PDA young people
  • Offer more opportunities for PDA adults to get involved in the running of the charity
  • Re-start our PDA Society conferences with more details to follow in 2023

Funding will start April 2023 and will cover a proportion of our running costs in England.  We’re incredibly appreciative of the National Lottery’s support and their recognition of the need for these support services within the PDA community.

As we announce this news, we’re also posting to let you know that our CEO, Helen Evans, will be stepping back at the end of this year.  We wish to extend our sincere thanks to Helen for all that she has done for the charity, including her work towards securing this National Lottery grant.  Helen will be stepping back to make more time for her young PDA son.

We will be advertising for our new CEO later this week on charityjob.co.uk and through social media.  The closing date for this role will be 9am on the 2nd of November, with interviews on the 7th of November.  If you have any questions about this opportunity once advertised, please direct them to info@pdasociety.org.uk and we will then aim to reply within 3 to 5 working days.
